AUGEN AI works on making video data useful. Cameras already see more of the world than people do, and very little of what they see is stored, understood and indexed. We are creating the layer that turns that footage into understanding of the physical environments.

Team's decade long passion for physical industries

AUGEN AI is built by a Stanford team that has spent close to a decade building products at the intersection of technology and physical industry. Our passion for physical industries started with our work building IoT and camera products for transportation and logistics customers, which led us to building video intelligence solutions for physical industries.

In the last few years we have collected and analyzed more than 10 billion minutes of data from real environments. That history shapes how we build. We know what fails in the field: cameras that fog, networks that drop, operators who route around software, how the real economy consumes and benefits from technology.

Why we are excited

Fact 1

Cameras outnumber human eyes.

It is already happening. Phones, vehicles, factories, stores and streets add sensors faster than the population grows. The world is now watched more by machines than by people, and almost none of what those machines see is understood.

Fact 2

Understanding the world needs 10x more data than reading the world.

Language models were trained on the text of the internet. Understanding the physical world needs far more than that, and the raw material already exists: the cameras of the world store around 17 times the data of the entire internet. The bottleneck is not footage. It is turning footage into understanding.

Our Mission

We exist to make video data extremely useful, and to give technology eyes into the real world.

We want to work with the economies, companies, researchers and individuals who want to advance this: operators with cameras and no way to learn from them, researchers who need data from the physical world at scale, and builders who need perception that holds up outside the lab.
